Comment, Equipment & Cost:

Training is conducted at Smithville Crawford Municipal airport and includes all necessary equipment.

Each student is different and many students take a couple more hours than the minimum number required by the FAA.  In addition, weather conditions and the student's availability to train on those days play a major factor in the total cost as the concentrated the training typically requires less training time.

As a result, a new student without any prior flying experience should budget $3,000-$4,000 in addition to ~$450 for their Proficiency Flight and Oral Exam to complete their training.

While PPC's are relatively easy to fly, like all aircraft they have their own unique flying characteristics and controls.  In addition, each student is unique and may require differing concentrations of training to attain flight proficiency flying a PPC (as compared to a fixed wing aircraft).

As a result, a  pilot without any prior PPC flying experience should anticipate spending $1,200-$1,800 in addition to ~$375 for the Proficiency Flight and Oral exam.
